Good things come to those who wait....hopefully...

My life can be summed up in one word - Waiting.
That's all I seem to be doing these days. Waiting for my ankle to heal so I can start running again. Waiting to move to Utah so I can find an apartment. Waiting to hear back from the numerous jobs I've applied for. Waiting for the next paycheck so I can add it to my furniture savings. Waiting to stop waiting and start doing. I'm ready to move on, and start a new chapter in my life, but before I do that, I have to wait a little longer.
This summer has been full of frustrations. But with those frustrations came a lot of opportunities to learn, mostly about patience. I have never been good with patience, in fact I hardly had any at all at the beginning of the summer. In all honesty, I would much rather show up late to any event than show up early and wait for it to start. But because of everything happening this summer, I think I am slowly starting to understand the brilliance behind patience.
I found a great quote that I feel sums up the true meaning of patience:
"Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience."
At this moment in my life, the going is hard and slow. Every time my ankle is supposed to be healed, I go into the doctor and find out there is something else wrong with it. (This past doctors visit I found out I not only sprained my ankle on the side, but also on the top of my foot...yay.) I love being home, but I am ready to move out on my own, but I can't, not just yet. I have to wait until mid August, but I feel as though time is moving like molasses, and no one is noticing except me. I have applied to job after job after job, and haven't heard anything back. The going is definitely hard and slow. But just as another great quote says, "Good things come to those who wait."
This is what my frustrations this summer have taught me, patience.
My ankle will heal in time, and I will be able to run, jump, and ski to my hearts content. August will come eventually, and I will move to Utah. For now, I just need to enjoy my time at home, with my family. I will get a job somewhere. Even if I don't get one before I move out to Utah, I will find a job, it will happen. Everything will work out in the end, because good things come to those who are patient - those who keep going even when the going is hard and slow :)

Patience has paid off already this summer too!! I finally got my diploma!!
